About Rebecca Tung, MD
Welcome to Cypress Crown Dermatology!
I am a double board-certified general dermatologist and Mohs and dermatologic surgeon (fellowship-trained). I am also a Professor of Dermatology, affiliate faculty, at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. I am a native Ohioan but am thrilled to call Central Florida home. I completed my medical education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and further trained at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for dermatology residency and Mohs and dermatologic surgery fellowship. Previously, I served as Chair of Dermatology at Loyola University Chicago, Mohs and Dermatologic surgeon at Loyola Medicine and Hines VA Hospital, and Mohs and Dermatologic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
I truly enjoy practicing both general dermatology for patients of all ages and performing Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer and dermatologic surgery. In Florida, we are blessed with so many days of sunshine to enjoy! Skin cancer is also very common in our state. As a dermatologist, I think it is important to guide patients on methods to reduce skin cancer formation and help keep their skin healthy. For patients with skin cancer, we take time to review both surgical and non-surgical options. Each patient is unique and treatment should be individually tailored to be suit their needs.
Collaboration is what makes the world better! Staying active academically by contributing to research and writing as well as teaching and mentoring medical students helps me ensure the care you receive is at the leading edge. My published work covers topics including general dermatology, Mohs and dermatologic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and patient education.
In the realm of outreach, I am a passionate volunteer in the community through my free clinic work with the patients at Haley Center in Winter Haven, Grace Medical Home in Orlando and throughout Polk County providing dermatologic care via the WeCare program. I have also helped to launch youth educational outreach throughout Central Florida with the Women’s Dermatologic Society at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Polk, Orange, and Manatee counties.
Enough details about me! In short, we would be honored to provide dermatologic care for you and your family. Thank you for considering us. See you soon!
